Public speaking is an effective marketing tool, if you can stomach it. Volunteer to speak to association and professional groups that have an interest in your product or service. Such groups are often hungry for creative, energetic, pro bono presenters. The only costs to you are:
1. Time to create your presentation
2. Overheads or Powerpoint Slides
3. Adrenaline
Public speaking allows you to position yourself and your company as an expert in your market niche. Be sure to add value in your talk by providing current statistics, industry trends, and simple pointers that relate to your audience. Create some humor for icing on the cake. And don't forget to pass out business cards, company literature and giveaways that plug your company.
